G-Line Series of TV Transmitters Designed in the late 70's the G-Line TV transmitter was the first RCA transmitter to have a completely solid state 1600 watt driver. Only two final tubes in each PA cabinet - one visual and one aural. The exciter had synthesized frequency generation and was IF modulated. 159 TV stations throughout the world purchased G-Line TV transmitters. Due to the various configurations, this actually consisted of 200 transmitter sides. Unlike the F-Line series (the High Band - FH and the Low Band - FL) where the transmitters were quite different, the G-Line High and Low Band shared many parts. The Power Supply / Control Cabinet is identical for both the High and Low Band versions. The Driver Cabinets are almost the same except for the Solid State Amplifiers and the driver P.S.. Everything within the Amplifier Cabinets are the same except for the Visual and Aural Tube Cavities. Select the navigation bar to the left to see more details.
